What is this game?

War for Cybertron is set on the planet Cybertron, prior to the Transformers’ contact with the planet Earth. Robotic in nature, each Transformer has the ability to transform from their robot mode to an alternate form, such as a tank or jet. The Transformers are engaged in total civil war with one another.  Optimus Prime must lead the Autobot forces to prevent Megatron and the Decepticons from corrupting the planet, itself a Transformer, with Dark Energon.

Each SKU/game allows players to experience the story as either the Autobots or the Decepticons, each with their own unique ending.

What did I contribute?

For this game I acted primarily as a level designer and designed various missions from start to finish to support the given narrative for each one.  All level layouts were built and populated with gameplay objects in 3DSMax.

During the course of this project I drove the design for many of the AI enemies in the game.  In addition I was responsible for designing and implementing the final boss fight for one of the SKUs.

Most of the designers on the team were new designers in the industry and I took on the role of guiding and teaching them on the project.  Working with them to help understand what they enjoyed doing and challenging them to push their own boundaries.
